Mini Musos for 2-3 year olds
In Mini Musos there is no end to the variety of songs and activities that encourage independence and musical development. With a book and CD for use at home and in class, Mini Musos is about experiencing music in as many ways as possible – we sing, dance, listen, pretend, and play percussion as well as using finger play, hoops, tunnels, pipe cleaners and colouring to help learn all about music.
The music lessons for Mini Musos teach pre reading concepts of pitch and rhythm notation reading. Keyboard experience is a focus of term 4 in the Mini Musos course, which prepares your kids for entry into the AMS Junior Course.
Classes are a fun-filled 40 minutes each week and enrolment is by the term. A parent or regular carer for each child is an essential part of Mini Musos. Our Mini Musos perform in the annual AMS concert.

Junior Starter for 4 year olds
A fun, creative, well-structured music course, Junior Starter course provides your kids with a book and CD for use at home and in class and teaches keyboard/piano skills, introduction to pitch notation, rhythm reading and music appreciation.
We listen, sing, play, move, read, shake, strike and tap! We also train you the basics of piano posture, hand position and finger technique – and perform in the annual AMS concert.
Parents attend with their children and we do not allow unenrolled siblings in class. Classes are 60 minutes each week and enrolment is by the term. Junior Starter leads directly into the AMS Junior Music Course where we further develop the ability to play, read and appreciate music.

Junior Course for Kindergarten and Year 1 at school
The AMS Junior Music Course is for children in Kindergarten and Year One at school. Learning music has never been this much fun! A progressive course over 2 years, Junior Course books and CDs contain all of the keyboard pieces, notation, worksheets and songs used in class and at home.
We sing, move, play, listen, read and perform – with a wide variety of games and activities to ensure life-long musical skills. A keyboard or piano is required for continuing development at home.
Junior Course students perform in the annual AMS concert and are eligible for the AMS Vocal Eisteddfod, the AMS Piano Eisteddfod and AMS Composers Day. Junior Course students sit their first Piano Exam at the end of the course. The Junior Exam provides a detailed report on performance, aural & sight-reading skills learned throughout the course.
Classes are 60 minutes each week and enrolment is by the term. Parents are required to attend classes and unenrolled siblings are not permitted in the classroom. Students progress to Junior Plus to continue developing their musical skills.
2 years – 4 books – 1 hour per week
Super Starter for Years 2-5 at school
Funky backing tracks, piano pieces, lots of different styles – Super Starter music classes have it all! This is a fast paced, structured music course teaching reading, piano skills, creativity, theory and performance. A piano or keyboard is required at home and the course books and CDs contain all the pieces and worksheets for class and home.
Super Starter students sit their first Piano Exam at the end of the course, giving a detailed report on performance, aural and sight-reading skills that have been taught over the first year. Students perform in the annual AMS concert and are eligible for the AMS Vocal Eisteddfod, the AMS Piano Eisteddfod and AMS Composers Day.

Adult Beginners or Rusty Fingers
Always wanted to play the piano? Did you play as a child and just need some help to get going again? We use the AMS Super Starter music course to get our adults playing pieces in a range of styles, understanding chords, reading music and enjoying themselves! What you can achieve in a friendly class with a great teacher.
We have a range of classes to suit the absolute beginner through to those returning to the piano. Call your local AMS to discuss which class will suit you.
Adult classes perform a group item in the annual AMS concert and students are eligible for optional exams in piano and theory.
A keyboard or piano is essential for this course. Some AMS locations have small instruments available for hire to get you going.
Classes are 1 hour per week with daytime and evening classes available.
Viva Voice ages 10 – Adults
Want to sing? Get out of the shower and onto the stage! Unlock your vocal potential with our structured singing course.
‘Viva Voice’ will teach you how to stand, breathe and sing to make the most of what you’ve got! Exercises, songs, performance techniques and creative work (like song writing) are all covered in this exciting course.
‘Viva Voice’ leads towards optional AMEB voice exams and students are eligible for the AMS Vocal Eisteddfod and AMS CAMP!
3 age groups: 10-12 years, High School and Adult.
Our beginner courses continue into Junior Plus, Extension, Spectrum & Advanced.
Performance, harmony, theory and creative work continue to be developed throughout these courses.
